Dream Me Review

Description:

Zat is a dreamer from the distant future – a time when humans no longer dream and earth is a desolate wasteland. He dreams of the beautiful earth of the past, and a fiery-haired beauty named Babe. Against the wisdom of his peers, Zat decides to risk everything to travel back in time and live in Babe’s dreams.

Babe is the perpetual new girl in town. Her father’s job frequently moves the family around the country, and Babe just longs for a place to call home. As she settles into the sleepy town of Sugar Dunes, Florida, Babe begins to have strange dreams of a green eyed boy named Zat. Night after night, Babe shows Zat her world. But the dreams come at the cost of nearly crippling migraines every morning. Babe’s life outside of her dreams pales in comparison to her growing love for Zat and their time spent together.

But the more time Babe and Zat spend together in her dreams, the more Babe’s pain increases, and Zat begins to question the reality of his existence. How can he live a life with Babe, when all they have is their dreams?

Review:

I’ll start off by saying that I DID enjoy this book, however there were certain aspects that I wasn’t very fond of.

The things that I enjoyed about this book are that we follow Babe as she transitions to a new city and does everything a normal teenager would do. She makes friends, enemies and has a normal life. Until she starts having dreams about Zat. This is when her blog comes into play, which the author has put into the book every couple chapters. We learn about the details of Babe’s dreams of Zat on her blog. At the very beginning the dreams are pretty normal, but eventually I feel like they start become a bit absurd, and awkward. I won’t go into details, but I just wasn’t a big fan of Babe’s dreams, or how the author portrayed them.

The author did however, do a great job at bringing diversity into the story. Not only that, but issues that some teens might face at some point in life such as life choices and being in difficult situations, etc. This is another thing I enjoyed about the book.

With the only issue being Babe’s blog, which I know is the main thing in this book because she dream of Zat, I ended up enjoying this book a lot more than I thought I would. I love being surprised at how much I end up liking books that I think I won’t enjoy.

This book is being released in July of this year, and I received a copy from Amberjack publishing for review.

I ended up giving this book 3.5/5 stars. =]
